The Sopwith Camel Empty
PostSubject: The Sopwith Camel   The Sopwith Camel EmptySat Nov 29, 2014 11:53 pm

Just got the Sopwith Camel and the attention to detail is remarkable.  Took me a bit to figure out the HUD, and there's an issue with that... but let's get to the main issue.

Taking off?  Fine.
Flying? Fine
VICE? Fine

Landing?  ..... alert the airport fire department, we're about to have a barbeque!!!

What is up with the Camel on landings?!?  I float her in with all the grace of an eagle about to perch on a limb.  Nice and level...steady descent...slight, easy flare right before touchdown.....wheels touch and begin to roll.... start to throttle down from 50% and if you don't pull back HARD on the stick as you're decreasing throttle, it'll nose forward, catch fire, and explode.  affraid

Did someone leave the brakes on?  Talk about embarrassing.  What am I doing wrong here?  I know how to flare and float the wheels down to the tarmac on any aircraft I fly.  But the Camel just wants to bury it's head in the concrete like an Ostrich.  Should we call it the Sopwith Ostrich now? LOL!  Seriously tho... it's a GREAT plane.  But it's a nightmare to land. No

Also, on the HUD.... the Magneto and Contact switches are...well...not there.  Everything else is able to be interacted with.  But there are just two brown circles labeled Contact on/off and Magneto on/off.  It's anyone's guess as to which position they might be in.  Can't see any indicator on them.  Tried all resolution levels (thinking it was, perhaps, just my viewer....no luck).

Help a pilot out?
