Congratulations on your purchase of the Hawker Harrier.
The EG Aircraft team thanks you and wishes you good flights.

INTRODUCTION
=========

The Harrier is not a standard plane. It has a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL - Vertical Take Off and Landing).
The steering of this aircraft in the real world requires great skill.
For the Harrier Aircraft EG, a brand new flight script was designed. It is by no means a "helicopter" script that was altered.
This script reproduces the action of the directional output reactors, as in reality.

In conclusion of this introduction, this plane demands an new kind of flying so I am asking you to read this notecard completely before conctating a member of the team.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
=======================
To properly use this aircraft, you must:
- Wear the HUD control. (Hud command Harrier V1.0)
- activate the 4 gestures provided in the box
* Harrier VIFF + (shift) activates the vertical thrust (required)
* Harrier VIFF - (ctrl) decreases the vertical thrust (required)
Flare * (F2) for release of anti-missile decoys (optional if not combat)
* Missile (F1) for firing missiles or dropping bombs (optional if not combat)

Rezzing the AIRPLANE
==============
* Drag the Harrier from your inventory to the ground.
* Click "Rezzing" on the HUD
* To remove the aircraft, click on the "Delete" command on the HUD (the aircraft being "copy" there is always an original in your inventory)

SITTING IN THE AIRPLANE
======================
Note: The cockpit opens and closes simply by clicking on it (single click). (open it will close,closed it will open)
* If the cockpit is closed, open it. (optional but more realistic)
* Right click on the aircraft and click - FLY - in the circle.
* The Harrier asks you to accept the attachment, click "Yes". (attachment is on the pelvis of the avatar)
* To get "properly" out off the plane, never use the button "rise" of Second Life. Open the cockpit and click "Stand up" on the hud command. It takes a little time. Do please be patient.

FLIGHT CONTROLS
================
1 / Up "arrow down" and down "arrow up"
2 / Turn right or left, respectively "right arrow" or "left arrow"
3 / Increase the power "PgUp", reduce the power "PgDown"

Operation of the thruster.
=============================

The 4 outputs of the reactor (nozzles) are steerable in the vertical direction of 90 °. (use the Shift and Ctrl keys)
Guidance is given in percentages. 100% gives the maximum vertical thrust, 0% maximum flight propulsion.

Whatever the orientation of the nozzle, the thrust is always supplied by the engine. It is therefore necessary to act on both parameters (reactor thrust + nozzle orientation).

You have the opportunity to act on the pitch axis to move forward or backward at little speed. In stagnant or very slow speeds, there is no roll, only the yaw is active.

Off.
==========
You can take off in 3 ways:

- Rolling
* nozzle 0%
* motor thrust between 0% and 20% (keep speeds low in runs)

- Vertical Takeoff
* release brakes (brakes on hud command)
* Orient nozzles to 90% (to avoid a start in reverse that is always difficult to control)
* Increase the power of the reactor gradually up to 70% - 80%
* Enter the landing gear (Gear on hud command)
* Orient nozzles in accordance with your gaining speed to 0%
* Enter the flaps (Flaps on hud command)

- Short Takeoff
* Orient nozzles to 0%
* Roll up the runway at low speed
* Lock the brakes
* Orient nozzles to 60%
* release brakes
* Increase the power of the reactor gradually up to 70% - 80%
* Enter the landing gear (Gear on hud command)
* Orient nozzles in accordance with your gaining speed to 0%
* Enter the flaps (Flaps on hud command)

- Normal Takeoff
* Orient nozzles to 0%
* Roll up the runway at low speed
* Increase the power of the reactor gradually up to 70% - 80%
* Enter the landing gear (Gear on hud command)
* Enter the flaps (Flaps on hud command)

Landing.
==========
You have the opportunity to land in 3 ways:

- Vertical Landing
* Reduce engine power to 60%
* activate Flaps
* get the landing gear down
* Orient nozzles gradually up to 90%
* Adjust the engine power to your rate of descent (70% stops the descent - 60% to land without breaking eggs)
* Once landedd, reduce the engine to 0%
* Lock the brakes

- short Landing
* Reduce engine power to 30% (below the plane drops like a stone)
* activate Flaps
* get the landing gear down
* Orient nozzles gradually up to 90%
* Adjust the engine power as your rate of descent (70% stops the descent - 60% to land without breaking eggs)
* Once landed, reduce the engine to 0%
* Lock the brakes

- Normal Landing
* Reduce engine power to 30% (below the plane drops like a stone)
* activate Flaps
* get the landing gear down
* Follow the procedure of landing like a normal plane.
* Once landed, reduce the engine to 0%
* Lock the brakes

THE TWO MODES OF FLIGHT
=====================
This plane has two flight modes, "normal" and "fight". Button Flying Mode "on the HUD control.
Normal mode means that the aircraft returns to flat quickly, this mode makes the steering easier, but it is less mobile. This mode is perfect for sequences of takeoff and landing.
The battle mode is more violent and very good for the stunt. In turns we must put the aircraft on the edge, and draw on the depth, it requires some practice, you will have to practice Wink

CAUTION:
===========
NEVER USE THE MODE "COMBAT" WHEN THE PLANE IS STATIONARY OR AT LOW SPEED (nozzles ar more than 0%)

COMBAT SYSTEMS "VICE" or "TCS"
===================================
First of all, enable the two gestures in the box provided. F1 to drop a load F2 to cast lures (flare)
to activate one of two combat systems, click the "VICE" or "TCS" on the HUD control. You can use one system at the time but can switch directly when needed.
5 types of weapons are at your disposal.
M134 machine gun Gatlin (left button mouse)
AIM 9L "Sidewinder" air to air missile (a guide on avatar)
AGM-65 Maverick air to ground missile (guidance on scripted object or physical mobile)
GBU-24 "Paveway" bomb air to ground (not powered steering on avatar, scripted object or physical mobile)

In close combat the sidewinder will not help, use the Gatlin instead, but on large areas of combat, a distance of 150m is ideal for the Sidewinders, it is necessary to anticipate somewhat the trajectory of the target and shoot at the right time, it requires some experience, but you will get good results quickly.
Regarding the Maverick, good shooting distance is about 150m also align the plane about the target and fires.
The Paveway drops are always a bit risky, to get the right altitude and the right distance to reach the target, but the result is powerful.
In case of attack on you, you can try to dodge the fire with flares, if this does not always work, it's still very pretty ... Smile
To select different loads, select one of two combat systems (or vice tcs) and click on the weapon you want (button hud command).

Warning: This combat system should never be used for harassment. It is a combat plane that should only be used on targets that have agreed. EG Aircraft is not responsible for the conduct of the pilots of these aircrafts.
It is every pilots own responsibility to obey the rules for compliance established by Linden

We wish you great flights !
